TRAVELING TO MATAPALO
By car, it is about a 5 hour drive south from Jaco to Puerto Jimenez, and then an additional 45 minutes from Puerto Jimenez to Matapalo, by dirt road. Inter-country flights are also available on Sansa and Nature Air.
Inter-country Flight Reservations
Inter-country flight reservations can be made on the following airlines: Sansa Air and Nature Air. There are no late afternoon/evening flights. Please plan your itineraries accordingly.
Once your Arrive
Once you arrive to Puerto Jimenez, taxis can be reserved for your drive to Matapalo. Car rental services are also available. It is a good idea to stop for provisions at one of the several grocery stores in town. Matapalo is about a 45 minute drive from town. While their are several dining options available in the area, there are no markets, and you may want to stock up on snacks, bottled water, fresh fruit, drinks, etc.
*The house has a fully-equipped kitchen with a spacious box-refrigerator, but no freezer.
